Competitive Analysis

See how your AURA score compares to competitors and identify where you're winning or losing.

Overview

What is Competitive Analysis?

Competitive Analysis lets you compare your site's AURA score against competitors side by side. Instead of looking at your scores in isolation, you can see exactly how you stack up against other sites in your space.

The comparison includes a dimension-by-dimension breakdown across all five dimensions: Crawlability, Authority, Content Quality, Answerability, and Extractability. This makes it easy to identify specific areas where competitors outperform you and where you already have the edge.

Step by Step

Where to Find It

Follow these steps to access competitive analysis in your dashboard.

  1. Run an audit on your website
Start by running a full AURA audit on your own site from the AIO Audit page or your dashboard.
  2. Open your audit report
Once the audit completes, open the full report from your results page or the History tab in your dashboard.
  3. Scroll to "Competitor Comparison"
Below your audit results, you will find the Competitor Comparison section. This is where you can add competitor URLs to benchmark against.
  4. Add up to 3 competitor URLs
Enter the URLs of the competitor sites you want to compare. Each competitor receives a full AURA audit. This feature is available on Pro and Agency plans.
Understanding Results

Reading the Comparison

Once competitor audits complete, the comparison view displays each site's results in an easy-to-read format.

Each competitor shows their overall AURA score alongside all 5 dimension scores. Color-coded indicators make it immediately clear where you stand: green highlights mean you are ahead of that competitor on a given dimension, and red highlights mean they are ahead of you.

The comparison applies the same audit methodology to every site, so the scores are directly comparable. Use this view to quickly spot your competitive advantages and the areas that need the most attention.

Best Practices

Tips for Using Competitor Data

  • refresh Re-audit periodically to track changes. Your competitors are optimizing too. Run comparison audits monthly to see how the competitive landscape shifts over time and whether your improvements are closing the gap.
  • priority_high Focus on dimensions where competitors score significantly higher. A 5-point difference may not be critical, but a 20-point gap on a dimension like Content Quality or Authority signals a major competitive disadvantage worth addressing.
  • route Use insights to prioritize your improvement roadmap. Rather than trying to improve everything at once, let the competitor comparison guide your priorities. Fix the biggest gaps first for the highest impact on your AI visibility.
